Elusive like butterflies in mad seasons of your forgetfulness
and as hard to claim, like piano notes
coming out awry.

I punch down but then, it's me who's the forgetter
that gravity is a friend, like you
and the ground will bed me down one day.

They tell me to avoid the counter-intuitive
and that twins and triplets hide the sharps
maybe, once a lifetime ago, we remembered.
