I often remissness those snowy winter nights
We'd walk among the glow of street lights
I'd offer you the warmth of my own hand
We'd venture until we just couldn't stand
No they'll never take it away
These are the memories that will forever stay

It has been quite some bit of time now
But I still remember every place time, and how
Unearthing our history with this *****
These are the memories that never seem to fade
Still I find comfort in calling you a friend
For the time that may be I'll continue to play pretend
Pack away reminders of our old history
Leaving tomorrow to become new mystery

I hold so tight to what feels like sand
Watch it all slip right from my hand
While left longing for your embrace
Reminding myself there is no race
Just as the hour glass hits the floor
Wondering exactly how much more.

Today things may not be going my way
Life may not be acting in my favor
Still this is a love that does not waver
I'll hold you closely until the very end
Even if only to be the one to mend
The pieces of you that may shatter
To me you are the one to forever matter

I hold so tight to what feels like sand
Watch it all slip right from my hand
While left longing for your embrace
Reminding myself there is no race
Just as the hour glass hits the floor
Wondering exactly how much more.

Call this whatever you will
Just tell my restless soul to be still
Because though I may be to late
I can not deny seeing this as my fate
A love in some way meant to be
I just hope one day you'll come to see
That I'll always pick you up when you are down
Save you from those floods just before they drown

The Ease Of My Mind (part 2)

I may have taken a fall or two by now
But that does not mean I'll forget how
To make my way back up for some air
I've learned to fight through every scare
With just these thoughts of you on my mind
The comfort I seem to always find

Promises that we both once made
With time may eventually start to fade
But together we both built this heart
So I'll build it up until everything falls apart
So long as I make it to see another day
I'll live my life in no other way
Then the way that I choose
No matter what I may risk or loose

I hold so tight to what feels like sand
Watch it all slip right from my hand
While left longing for your embrace
Reminding myself there is no race
Just as the hour glass hits the floor
Wondering exactly how much more.

There has always been a place for you
By the right space at my side
Though surfacing thoughts I may hide
I keep biting all of my time
For the chance my voice may chime
If only opportunity may come to rise
Then maybe you would come to realize

I hold so tight to what feels like sand
Watch it all slip right from my hand
While left longing for your embrace
Reminding myself there is no race
Just as the hour glass hits the floor
Wondering exactly how much more.

I could not ever force you to stay
I just wouldn't wreck your life that way
So just say the word and I'll cut you loose
I never meant this tether to become our noose
But these are the words I have to say
I never stopped wishing that you would stay
From the start I already made up my mind
There was nobody else I need to find
I want to take you until the end, even if only to call you a friend
