cariño

I want to come over to snuggle We can wrap ourselves up in your cloud bed and talk about the cracks and the beauties of the world But I forget that you’re an ocean and an orchard full of lemon trees away from me now And it’ll take too long for me to cross over to find you in the branches I hope This isn’t me starting to lose you Memories like little leaves are falling as our mango tree shakes, Drifting down in little piles on the lawn, they accumulate between us Let’s rake them up & save them Be it in a letter or message inscribed in digital ink Lets rake up the leaves and save them, before they float away! You like to tuck things behind your ear and wear bright colors I used to tuck myself behind your shadow and camouflage But once we dressed up like gypsy goddesses and walked down 24th street and you taught me its okay to be noticed
