The senseless energy of confusion
With nothing left to try
Too restless to sleep
And too tired to cry
What can he say?
What words can he use?
What does she want to hear?
What more can he do?
Sat alone in the dark
Come home to my heart

Begging the phone to ring
From a distant place
A voice in the plastic
He pictures her face
"I can't stand to be alone
Please, bring my children home"
A half of him is empty
The half that is her part
Sat alone in the dark
Come home to my heart
