Rain and Hope

The rain comes down Washing clean all that has past Time stops before your very eyes The thoughts of that one girl Over and over in your mind They make things ok Make things clear The only thing that time really does Is slow your heart beat From running away in the bliss and excitement The fear, the unknowing of what's to come The serenity The rain pours down Still unsure Still confused But the signs are there glistening in the light of the moon Faded but there, They reassure that there is light at the end of this long dark tunnel They draw you closer Like moths only sobered by reality That maybe this light The warmth that you feel Is taken by the night, is absorbed by the darkness To return you to the nothingness from which you came To be passed off like a stone into a drowning river Forgotten forever Fighting the rain like a flood The light catches the drops A glimmer of hope A chance Proof of what is What is not It is what is is It is what its not This is what we make it The chances we take The vows, no matter how silent They spell the truth The truth that only god can know The depths of our very selves tell a story that none can see That only they can share with whom truly want to hear Do they that want to share want to hear? The fear of rejection flows through my veins Like a drug it inches into every part of my body Devouring what is left All the hope Until a sign is left A sign that tells me everything is alright That everything is fine Its all there in the making, coming down with the rain All we need is to catch that light The light that has been shining for so long The light that will eventually consume us Take us to that place The place where we belong.
