My short breath is lost in the wind.
The star shoots as my heart sinks.
I'm floating, swaying.
Laying flat, looking up.

Oxygen too heavy to fill my shallow lungs.
Tightness in my stomach, in my throat.
Darkness envelopes me
But you're shining. Forever.

Fingers stiff from the chill of the night.
I'm alive. The cold reminds.
I hear sound. Nature. River.

The sky in the water.
Smoke becomes the night.
My body is empty, deflated.
I drift, the breeze takes me.

No matter how wise a tree,
Eventually it turns to paper.
