Circle of Life

Variegated colours of the late Autumn leaves

Rustle and blow in the gathering breeze;

Like the patchwork of a quilt hung out on the line,

Resplendent and dazzling; God’s own fair design.

They shimmer and sparkle like the sun on the seas

Hanging onto last life from the boughs of the trees.

Colours of rainbows like sails on a yacht

Until they fall to the ground where they wither and rot.

Replenishing soil to kick-start dormant seed

Thus bringing new-life to all that they feed.
