You cannot let the eel eat you.

The floor is miles away.
Your body emanates a dim glow;
like the last star standing
in a drowning void.

It's massive form circles your own.
Your paranoia claws at your spine,
spitting on the edges of your mind.

Behind you.
Just a few feet in front of you.
Coming at you from the left.
It could be anywhere.

You feel movement.
A low, slow purring
contaminates the space surrounding
your floating body.

Are you ready?

It's getting closer now.

Part of it's giant body grazes the inches of space in front of you.
You could touch it
if you wanted.

It purrs.
It's loud.
You can't tell what it's feeling.

You see it's tail appear and disappear in moments.
You can't see it anymore.

You cannot let the eel eat you.

You feel the urge to pray,
but you know
there are no gods
in a place this dark.

Are you ready?

It's getting closer now.

Are you ready?
