Now What

At night wondering An unbreakable silence Yet there are screams, shouts No one around. Could they be my shouts? Not speaking Could they be my thoughts? Not thinking Could I be going crazy? Not insane Could it be animals? No one alive Could it be the moon? Not shining Then what? I try to listen Try to distinguish the voice Sounds like mine But not mine Its close Yet far I pay more attention They voice is familiar I listen again The voice is of a stranger It’s loud It’s unclear It’s weak As that of someone scaring Yet they’re scared to scare I try to ignore it It grows louder Louder Deafening I try to understand Hear a hidden message It’s softer Softer A whisper My heads spinning Now what?
