Secure the night from the shadow,
draw back the sheets from the bed,
douse the flickering candle,
there's a pillow of dreams for your head.

In the still of the night, in the darkness,
in the hollowed out space, there within,
lay your presence of nearness beside me,
as the onset of night begins.

Where through the night in this haven,
you're the stars that shine in my sky,
in peace, there you lay, safe and treasured,
as the hours until dawn pass by.**
