Not even a smile to put on
Not even a chuckle that amuses
Hiding behind a mask
Guessing at what is underneath
Unsure of what to do
Sit beneath a tree and cry
Listening to my youth die away
Where has my heart gone to
Where has my childlike tendencies wandered off to
Here again
All alone at the end of the day
Waging war on my emotions
Strength departing leaving me in a weakened state
Facing the world is a daily hassle
This is not a fairytale
No fiction lies beyond this point
This is reality crashing down
And at the end of the day
I take off this mask
And when the sun rises
It goes on again
