The Man In The Moon
To be the man in the moon,
Would be a terrible fate.
Always arriving when it’s always too late.
With the sun in the way, he’s just second rate.
The man in the moon,
What a terrible doom!
Imagine the sadness, the tears, and the gloom!
Not a petal to grow, to brighten or bloom.
O, the man in the moon
In the middle of space.
While we below try to make out his face.
His mind wanders off to a happier place.
See the man in the moon,
His heart beat and tanted.
No matter the risk, his life he would chance it
To bask in the light that we take for granted.
