Clockwork

Addicted to his sent

And the feeling of a heart beating

Next to yours at night

In exchange with putting up

With whatever he feels suits you

Reducing you to tears

Serving you a fright.

Preying on you vulnerabilities

You are like putty in his hands

He twists the key in your back forcefully

You entertain his every command.

Consumed by his own fears

And jealousy

Convincing his self that to your life

He has the right.

You take what he deals you

Emotionlessly

Just for a beat of a heart

Next to yours at night.
