luck of the draw

I may not ever win the lottery,

or even raffles at football games.

I could go the rest of my life without ever winning a game of chance,

consistently losing cards, money, and dignity.

Yet my lack of superficial fortune will never phase me,

for as long as I’m with you

I am the luckiest person alive.
