Back in the beginning, with no end in sight
Knocking down walls was our daily fight
White bones burning with a cherry red light
Living out of bounds on the wrong side of right

Ain't no time to be kind, what is yours is now mine
Howling out sounds that can not be defined
But who knew that we could never find the time
To feed our hourglass with one more dime

There was a purple sun rising out in the east
Tears were shed from the burden of your beast
Our boats drifted away, getting to far to reach
The sun had set and no longer would you cease.

So play on my friend and play forevermore
I sure I'll see you again when I get to that door

The marble has been set and the dirt piled high
You may be gone, but you'll never leave my mind
Funerals for good friends are never easy. Don't ever let anything petty dampen your bonds with true friends--one day you might regret it.
