Here
In the spaces between the trees
Bands of light squeeze through and
Illuminate your mossy eyes,
Making them shine like diamonds.

Walk with me.
If we don't find our way back
To where we started,
We'll discover somewhere new.

Share with me a conversation
So much like our physical journey:
Exciting, refreshing,
Exploratory,
Slightly perilous.

Then, at last,
Share with me
An embrace warm and true
Of the kind that warm to the core,
That draw contented sighs,
Gentle smiles.

I have for you such quiet adoration,
Silent longing that would bleed me dry if I let it.
But I do not;
Instead I make it fortify my soul.
