Dawn of the monsoons it was,
Heaven was already proclaiming it’s aphorism,
Seemed to me as if god was performing an act of chastism.
With a cup of tea near the window pane,
The past reeling in front of my eyes, had put me in vain.

Gazing out of the window, sipping the scorching tea,
“Carpe Diem” and I recalled a pixie.
Past was all gone, just by a thought of her,
Losing her was the only thing I had feared.

For being a part of each other’s lives,
Meeting physically wasn’t important we thought.
Heedless of the reason why I shared with her,
Every battle that I mentally fought.

Every morning in the corridor, lost in her own thoughts she was,
Missing every alternate step of the staircase, I tried to find out the cause.
She wouldn’t let me know that, she was stubborn,
Exceptionally dazzling was her presence, just like a pleasant nocturne.

“I ain’t beautiful!”, said she,
Everytime I saw her my heart skipped a heartbeat.
Physical beauty holds no importance, is what I had always told her,
The alluring soul she had, made her redolence like a myrrh.

Life is not always about tying the knots,
Sometimes you need to connect the dots.
Some relationships couldn’t be defined as they have their own meanings,
She was the girl who could turn autumn into springs.

Her presence in my life made each moment grand,
Days passed like that, together we impression-ed our footprints in the sand.
The rain had stopped and empty was my cup of tea,
I could still feel her presence, her presence that completed me.
