I'm reaching out,
hoping to find that guardian angel;
I'm lost and without,
without my precious archangel.
I want you to see me,
to see my heart that beats.
I want you to see me,
it requires no impossible feats.

I long for understanding
and I thrive in love.
I don't need your demanding,
just the empathy I am worthy of.
I feel pain,
just as you do;
let me explain,
so you don't misconstrue.
I need you to see me,
to see a human being.
I need you to see me,
and to us both it will be freeing.

We've all been taught to look away,
away from our pure essence.
And though our actions have gone astray,
we still live as a coalescence.
You and I are we,
and I need you to hear,
so we can live in harmony,
and let the hate disappear.
I need you to see me,
to see my heart under the shell of pain,
I need you to see me,
so nothing but love can remain.
