When you told me
I was beautiful
I knew that you
believed it
and when you
wrote me that
acoustic song
I knew that you
could feel it
Tuesday,
when you sent me
flowers, well
I knew that I was
important
but when you held me in your
arms
and you told me the Greek tale
of Orpheus and Eurydice
and you told me to look
to the moon where
Jupiter was floating
with Venus
all on the sky-stage
of dusk and star-
fall
well,
then,
I knew you loved me
and I knew I
loved you too.
