I sit alone sipping my drink,
Staring out at the moon.
I think and I wish and I hope and I pray,
That my love will be along soon.

She told me to wait,
Til my heads ******* on straight
Til my heart knows what it needs.

And it's true in the past,
I've been the last one who laughs,
But now I'm the first one who bleeds.

It took a dozen first dances,
And even more second chances
Until the hole in my pocket was found.

And as I stitched up the cleft,
To save what was left,
I heard the last of it fall to the ground.

And There I stood in a daze,
As it sprinted away,
Down the alley and down the street.

Now what piece did I lack,
That would sutcher the crack,
And make the picture complete?

So I sit alone sipping my drink,
the fireflies play me a tune,
And deep down I wonder, I hope, and I pray,
That my love will be along soon.
