I loved you dearly but we
Died just the same;
Glowing like a gloomy flame against
The salty breeze.
Felt myself disappearing as though
I was in love's sheath;
Soothing pale hands gripping my shoulders
When the tide moved close.
So obliged to suffer.
Just too broken to stray;
Hovering like bats over the cool waves
