Oh, you are the one
my soul was born to love
from the time of my earliest memory
when I come from my mothers womb
somehow I knew
another half of my soul
lived in this world
that I would never be complete
without you.
Oh, all my life I have waited
through all the dark days
of this dark land
through all my souls suffering
to be united with you.
Oh, you are forever part of me
forever at the center of my soul.
Oh, how my life shrinks to nothing
when I am gone from you.
Oh, how I count the days and hours.
Oh, how dark and timeless they seem!
Till I can taste your sweet breath upon my tongue.
Oh, how you are the gladness of my heart
and your absence is my souls suffering.
Oh, how the love of your heart
fills my soul with joy overflowing
and I will sing of your love
through all the days of eternity unending.
