Unfortunate events
Tore us apart.
Life was unfair,
Darkening our hearts.

The occasional memory
Would run through my mind.
I decided to search for you,
Not knowing what I would find.

Talking to you,
Things fell into place.
You found me in the dark,
Dried the tears on my face.

I was lost in this world,
Yet you heard me cry out,
And saved me from the wolves
And a life of self-doubt.

Our hearts, once dark,
Now flutter with delight
When we see each other,
Hold each other,
And talk into the night.
