For he loved her so,
He could not let her go;
Not from his sight,
Nor from his arms.
She had nestled herself in,
Grown roots into his ribs
And wrapped her essence
Around his heart
So tightly that without her,
Without the vines of her love,
His heart would fall away,
Lost from its cage forever.
