She is as broken as the sidewalk I walk on today
Once a beautiful path
Dulled by the footprints of the ungratefulΒ Β
Cracks and crevasses covering her whole
Unrecognized by most
Turned away by others
Weeds push through her body
Disrupting the disrupted even father
Across the street
A freshly paved avenue lays proudly
As her streetlamps flicker in and out
