What beauty a summer sun
does bring
It serves us;
our eternal center
Words ignite its radiance
What is true of the sun
is true of the soul
An invisible element
made visible in life
We see what we want to see
If rarified beauty is
our vision
perpetual summer will glow
through us; lest like Icarus
as a golden winged bird
rising higher and higher
to escape
closer and closer to the sun
melting wings
falling into the sea
and death...
