A white angel                        
Grazes on by,          
So aloof yet astute
That it brings a tear to my eye

Gleaming with pride
I watch her grow
Alas, the time has come
And I must go              

So few dark nights
Were you not there
That to tear myself away        
Fills my heart with despair
