Not so long or far away,
There is a place were memories stay,
A place where thoughts of years gone by,
Gather together of you and I.
Now and then a memory sneaks,
Inside my mind it will peek,
And there I see your lovely face,
Your hair all tied in Summer's lace.

Not so long or far away,
Upon a hill there is a grave,
Upon the grave there is a stone,
Standing there so all alone.
Upon the stone it is inscribed,
With all my love I do and die.
Without your love there is no life,
I love you so my darling wife.

Not so long or far away,
My life will end some Winter's day,
And when the day my life does end,
From this earth I will ascend.
Someday soon my wife I cry,
I'll be there by your side,
With my thoughts of you in mind,
I'll search and search till you I find.

Not so long or far away,
Upon the stone it will say,
That I loved you and you loved me,
We'll be together through eternity.
Now I put my memories to sleep,
I lock them up and safely keep,
Until the day my life does end,
I'll keep them close till we meet again.
