The Day You Died

by @kriskaia

The day you died, you took my heart You left me many tears I realized that day, you were a part Of my hopes and my cheers Many will say how you turned out Left naysayers with little doubt Many will say Many will say She knew what she was all about The day you died, you took my heart Your boy and girl grew up Reliving life for the most part Under your loving cup They're your biggest accomplishments Despite their defying torment They're your biggest They're your biggest Treasure, free and very content The day you died, you took my heart I now lament your death For in life you were my spare part I'll state till my last breath You've given me so much to share You taught me how to give and care You've given me You've given me That feeling, I'm walking on air

This piece has just been awarded second place in the contest... Can't believe it! First time ever writing a eulogy, and I was just 2 points shy of first place! Hats off to the judges, and the contest creator Ms. Sarah
