Enclosed in the dark
Walls closing in
I've hit my mark
On what lies within
There's that voice
If I choose to listen
My heart starts to beat
Your eyes start to glisten
The voice starts to speak
"Say it's over, goodbye
See ya next week"
Motionless I lie
I'm in a room full of people
Machines and the like
Not in a building with a steeple
But one overlooking a ****
Suddenly, there appears a new voice
One I can't ignore
"If you come back, I'll let you go"
Trying to move is such a chore
And I bolt right up, from the soft bed
Astonished, I came back from the dead
This piece was written for a contest on all poetry, where the prompt was space... I chose to convey the time in a relationship where the person feels smothered....So in order to get any space the poor guy had to die.... hope you enjoy my work...
