In A Sense
In a sense
veins flowing to a foreign beat,
as you help me to my feet.
I don’t know whether to smile or frown,
because you’re the one that put me on the ground.
It was tough to stay for as long as I did,
but now that I have left I don’t question if I will live.
Love can be strong. and it can be weak.
Sometimes it is deep and meaningful, other times bleak.
I no longer fear what love will hold,
I no longer love, that much is known.
You took what was mine in a sense,
now and forever you will pay the price,
a price so great you wish you could change,
but pure loneliness is your fate.
