Inside Out
For two million years
we didn't live outside,
we existed outside.
Things have changed.
Now outside is something
we see on TV or in photos
or on the internet.
We chose central heat
and plumbing over
rivers and trees.
We dreamed of safety
and chose not to know
the world.
Most folks would die
in two short weeks
without grocery stores.
How this will play out
remains to be seen.
The omens are not
auspicious.
