I am fully aware of the way you look
At me.
You think I’m not looking but I can see you clearly,
Glancing at me from a distance,
As I do the same.
You think that I do not feel your stares
Because I am staring off into the distance
Into something you’ll never know.
I am listening to your voice, your laugh
I feel your presence in the room.
And when you cannot see I will be looking at you
Watching the way you walk, you smile, how you move your hands as you speak
I am so good at pretending not to care
That I often forget of your glances,
And one of these days I will look up and “catch” your eyes.
I will give you a slight smile as to say “I know what you do”
And you will probably look away quickly,
Trying to pretend that you don’t do the same.
I wrote this in September of my senior year of high school about a boy. I find it funny because now there's a new boy and I do the same exact thing
