Behind void smiles, hide penitent secrets.
An undisclosed sorrow never to be erased.
The lies, the thoughts, every regret.

Life used to be enchanting,
Existing solely for fun and games.
Now my only concern is surviving.

I think of you continually, my angel.
Forgive me for things inconceivable.
I miss you, my darling.

I wonder who you would’ve been.
What you’d look like,
Would you be like him?

A daunting lesson in measure,
Yet, the glimmer in tired eyes.
Gone is pain, down with pleasure.

No longer do I love too fast.
Because you’re just a mere memory,
Wandering through my past.
