May 2015
One day the beast awoke
After many centuries of deep sleep
Its power was unparalleled by anything on Earth
As red and orange tinted the land
And grey clouds covered the sky

For while it slept it had dreams
Of mightiness, ******* and destruction
As his hunger slowly grew over time
And memories of his glory faded away

But peace was over
As houses were burned down
Whole forests and fields turned into ashes
People were set ablaze
And the giant showed his true splendor again

Just abruptly as he exploded
He suddenly felt tired
He stopped growling and spitting fire
For he was proud of his work
As he stood still yet again
And so he stayed for many more centuries
Fading away from people’s memories
Waiting for the time to awaken again
