God bless and keep you, day by day.
For your strength and peace I pray.
I know your heart, and what’s inside,
But lost up where your thoughts reside.
I know your dreams and wishes too,
And your pursuit of all virtue.

I cannot know where life may lead
Nor what I wish for us, indeed.
All we can know is what we see
And understand God’s plan to be.
But like I said in lines before
I will for you to God implore.

And when His plans have then been met
Content we’ll be, no cause to fret
What I say, in such long verse
Are things of which we don’t converse
The thoughts in me I can not speak
Earthly words are far too weak

Your friend I’ll be until the end,
I’ll be the one, on me depend.
When time has passed, we’ve come and gone
Into our lives we’ve each withdrawn.
Don’t think that I will soon forget,
Nor will I ever, this regret.

You are the friend I want to keep
With you one day I’ll take a leap
Who knows where then we two will land
But I won’t mind, just take my hand
The rest I’ll leave to God on high
And one last time, I’ll say “goodbye”.
