Serenity

Here I lie, my body still.

I stare at the ceiling above me, unmoving.

My eyes shift to you, lying next to me.

Your head resting upon my chest,

Our arms wrapped around each other.

You sleep soundly, your breath calm.

I stroke your head, your hair catching between my fingertips.

My lips delicately touch your head, my heart serene.

I have never felt so calm...

...And happy.
