You're a thousand miles from heaven
and a million years amidst the stars,
from the world, there's a difference within you
yet I still can't figure out who you are -

with every dragging step I take
and every blast that peppers me with flak,
it seems that the only love I gave
drew you out of the blue, and into the black.

I still see your satin body sheening
fresh out of the shower and fair,
little droplets of water, glittering
like minuscule diamonds in your hair.

But beneath that flame kissed skin
I pierced your chest, tainted your heart -
I'm sorry dear, but my sins
would've always offset our love, even from the very start.

And that is why I'm here
to say sorry, apologise for everything that I've done;
it seems from this distant, confused predicament,
there's no easy place neither of us can run.

But no matter what happens next
or if you choose to hurt me, like I did you,
I'd understand completely, because after all
you can't love someone, if that love is untrue.
