He noticed her.
She thought she was invisible,
all she ever wanted was to
blend
in.
Fade.
He wouldn't let her disappear.
He noticed her.

Sideways glances,
two minute conversations,
they left him breathless.

She saw him looking,
her heart pounded when he talked to her-
heartbeat skipping a hundred miles a minute.

It was their utopia,
with infinite galaxies and technicolor kaleidoscopes.
Together, they conquered kingdoms.
Champions, people called them.
He reached Challenger.
She was Bronze I.
All they saw
was each other.

The kaleidoscope turned dark
Utopia morphed into a dystopia.
All she ever wanted was to
blend
in.
She faded.
She was Bronze I.
He didn't notice her anymore.
