At three months you cry and spittle
Your Aunt rocks you in her arms
I take a break and remember
You are so sweet and oh so little

At three years you run and giggle
Your dad plays knights and castles
I make the red jello blocks  jiggle
You are so sweet and still so little

At thirteen you are about to fly
Your parents remind you often
make good choices please don't die
My hardened heart is softened

When thirty years approach
I still speak about that joy
of watching how you've grown
into my beautiful boy
