I can only imagine.
What has stalled his passion.
Was it distrust or misplaced lust
that sent his love crashing.

I can only see
What his eyes will reveal to me.
A flicker of hope and anguish bottled,
Maybe things can never be.

What I know.
Is that through time he will grow.
His heart will beat big and strong for me.
But what time? We’ll never know.

I’ll wait until the last clock strikes midnight.
I’ll out walk the farthest city lights.
Can’t promise everything will be right
But I can promise in the darkness, our love will light.

I left me.
So I can become we.
Let us be.
Let our love flow free.
