You spoke to me in bubbles
and smelled like rose petals.

You asked me how it felt
to be a war-time novelty?
I said I wasnt real.

You took me to a place
where there was nobody left
to remember our names.

You told me stories of great kings
and showed me pictures of dead lovers,
until I lost my sense of time.

We sat in pools of arsenic
for centuries,
but we never got any older.
