Mar 2015
we laid there in silence
the empty air swayed
my breath and yours
back and forth like a braid
words were not needed
simple presence was enough
i watched and i gazed
i took note of your scruff
sleep pecked at our eyes
our hearts kept it away
we'll wait for the sunshine
poking through, a heavenly ray
the farewell is imminent
but it wont be forever
so for now i will go
holding tight to my ember
