Oh, please love me
upon a bed of forever
let time stop in its swift flight.
Oh, I have fallen
fallen so far
fallen for a summer's day
fallen forever and evermore
Oh, from a span that would reach from the father star
to the pit of hell below
Oh, God in heaven how far
and deeply I have fallen in love with you.
My every longing
and every care
and every will of life
is tied to you
and your precious beating heart.
Oh, I to bliss or woe do go
in my thoughts of you
of your lovely form
and your lovely soul.
Oh, you hold the key
to my heart and soul.
Oh, you decide
whither I go to bliss or woe
to live in the light of heaven's bright shore
or suffer such pain and torment
in the pit below.
Oh, they say that hell resides
in the earth below
But oh, how I know
it resides where your love is not.
Oh, you are a waking living dream
a living song of love
become flesh in such a lovely
heavenly form.
Oh, how can I ever forget you
You are written in words
of heavenly light and gold
at the center of my soul.
Oh, you are the reason
the morning dew
kisses the wild rose
and the sun yet shines
its mercy to the world below
on a cold winter's day.
And my heart will sing forever
of your beauty and your lovely soul
through all the unending days
of eternity
forever and evermore.
