If you had a time machine
That you could use just once
Would you travel backwards to undo what had been
Or dive into the future and trust in providence?
Or maybe you are lucky
Thats quite rare I suspect
That you wouldn't dabble in the past
As you would protect
Everything you have right now
And wouldn't change a thing
But you might glimpse the future
To check if Charles makes king?
I think I would go back to spend a day with those
Who's lives have since been snuffed out
And left so many holes
You could go one week ahead
And find lottery numbers out instead
Or go back and never make that call
That made that ball start to roll
I wonder what you would do?
And hope that you do too
You may already know
and you mightn't have a clue
