Flowers to forget

With lips like wisps of smoke to my mouth and
eyes awake and dreaming
all the pain she had ever felt
could be read on her face
like her tears left scars
and she'd kissed a man to help her forget
like he'd fill the void some how
he'd pick her flowers and call her baby
as if flowers could act like plasters
