Absent Now
There were crows off in the distance
I didn't notice your light
I felt your ghost leap through my skin, then the windshield
Gardenias in bloom filled the womb
and shattered my stained glass windows
Colors, aromas in motion, ballooned my chest.
I floated into skies.
Absent now, your eyes.
Softly caressing where our ring once wore
In the childrens room we painted and named
The drugs that meant to liberate my veins
Felt more like a cage
