Let’s play a game
Make believe is the name
Let’s transport to another world
Where you never were my Lord.

Make believe
As we deceive
Ourselves to forget
The sting of the hornet

Let’s pretend we never were
Then I never would have been broken like common glassware
Let’s pretend you never said all you did
That my feelings stayed forever hid

Let’s pretend we never loved
Your name on my heart was never carved
Let’s pretend we never shared
Thoughts and feelings that made us think we cared

And maybe if we pretend enough
I once again will believe in love
And if you become less than a memory
My purity will be restored to it’s former glory
