How do I stand a chance
Against such a beautiful girl?

I do not know anything of her
Just the stories you have told me
And the way you say her name
Shows me her importance.

Your eyes shine with her image
Every word brings another picture
Of such wonderful perfection
And I can see her here with us

A fountain of youth flowing free
Golden hair falling into oblivion
Eyes like blooming meadows
Gracefully reaching out to others.

Brilliant perfection captivates
And you are forever entranced
By everything that she stands for
Every little thing she is made of.

And this leaves me standing here
Alone in the sunless swirling dust
Reaching for the ghosts of you
Catching handfuls of empty air.
