There once was a little monster
whose body bore a flame
so bright and luminescent.
His eyes were blue, such as the sea
and a tail that followed behind.

He loved all things day,
such as flowers and bugs
and the fluttering blue jays.
He loved the grass and the tall tree's above,
and the sea, from which
lay beyond the cliff.

Once there was a monster,
that was of the sea,
her scales shone bright
with the shining daylight
glistening in the sea.
Her fins were as delicate as jellyfish
and her eyes a shocking color
which matched the shade
of a dancing fire.

She longed for the fields
just on top the cliff.
The small flowers above
the rigid obstacle.
But could not touch.

The little monster,
whose skin burned with fire
saw this beauty in the water
and fell in love
but couldn't touch her.
Her wished to please her
in any way he could.

He thought of all the places he knew.
The forest had many tree's
and the many butterflies.
He found the field in which they slept,
and snatched one up in surprise.
But as he held it
it burnt with a sizzle
and all was left was a crisp black thing.

He thought again,
he remembered a field in which
the prettiest flowers grew.
He went there and within the field
and plucked a few.
They burned to a charcoal,
right in his hands
and he felt hopeless.

He thought once more, this time harder.
His eyes flew open, with sudden realization.
He told the Mistress of the Sea to be at
the cliff when the night disappeared and turned to night.

So she came, to the place where her realm ended,
and waited for the light to fade into pink,
then purple, then blue,
then black.

A light shimmered from the cliff.
A statue of an odd shape
seemed to burn.
with a fire so brilliant
and red
and yellow
like her friend
on the Cliff.
